Applies to report grids with a Views side panel. A named view retains a report’s column arrangement, grouping, filters, and sorting. It saves presentation settings associated with a report definition. It does not create a new report calculation or freeze the displayed values.

What is required before saving a view?

  • An accessible report with a loaded grid and Views panel.
  • Permission to create a view, or update permission for an existing view.
  • The required column, grouping, filter, and sorting settings already applied.

How to create a named view

  1. Select Views beside the report grid.
  2. Select Save as new. The Create View dialog opens.
  3. Enter a descriptive name in New view name.

Create View names the current presentation. Production, October 19, 2026.

  4. Select Save.
Verify that the named entry appears in Views and becomes selected. A closed dialog alone does not confirm that saving succeeded. Read any displayed error if the named entry does not appear.

The saved view appears selected in the Views panel with Owner access.

How to apply a saved view

  1. Open an accessible result for the same report definition.
  2. Select Views.
  3. Select the required named entry.
Verify that the expected columns, grouping, filters, and sorting are applied. View availability depends on access to the saved presentation. Access to the underlying report and data remains necessary. If Unsaved Changes appears, select Cancel to retain the current work. Save the required changes before selecting another view. Select Discard only when the pending changes can be abandoned. Save deliberately before switching views; not every presentation adjustment produces an unsaved-changes warning.

How to update an existing view

Updating a shared view changes the saved presentation available to other users with access. Use Save as new to retain a separate version instead.
  1. Select the existing entry in Views.
  2. Apply the required presentation changes.
  3. Select the entry’s disk-shaped save icon, if available.
Verify that no save error appears. Reapply the named view from an accessible result to check that the intended settings were retained. An unsaved-changes message alone is not a complete record of changes. The update control requires write access to the view. Use Save as new when the current entry cannot be updated, including Default.

How to rename a view

  1. Select the required entry in Views.
  2. Select its Edit name icon, if available.
  3. Enter the new name in Edit view name.
  4. Select Update.
Verify that the list shows the revised name.

How to remove a view

Deletion removes the saved presentation, including its availability to users who shared it. Confirm the selected view and check whether other users still need it before deleting.
The underlying calculated report data is not deleted by this action. Deletion requires separate permission; a visible delete control does not guarantee that the request will succeed.
  1. Select the required entry in Views.
  2. Select Delete view, if available.
  3. Select Delete in the confirmation dialog.
Verify that the entry disappears from Views.

How can the default presentation be restored?

Select Default in Views. If Unsaved Changes appears, preserve or discard the current changes as required. Verify that the configured columns and grouping return and column filters are cleared. See Choose columns, Group results, and Filter and sort results for individual settings.
