# Applicable Regulations

The setting "crif.regulation.handling" in the simm-data-load.properties file allows you to configure one of the following treatments for the empty regulation field:

* With the "old-style" format, (crif.regulation.handling=include), the trades having both Post and Collect regulations fields empty are included in the calculation.
* Alternatively, with the "new" format (crif.regulation.handling=exclude), the trades having an empty Post or Collect regulation field are not included in the corresponding margin calculation.
