# Switch desk what-if tools

This section describes how to use the Switch Desk What-If feature to
simulate moving a desk between SA and IMA classifications.

## Switch Desk

1. Right-click a measure cell corresponding to a specific Desk, then
   select **Switch desk model**
   from the context menu. You can call the widget in any pivot table
   containing the Desk dimension.

   The **What-If Switch Desk Model** dialog
   box is displayed, showing the desk's current details.

2. Complete all the fields and click **OK**

   WhatIf Submission Details:

   * **Title**: Short caption describing
     the meaning of the switch desk task.
   * **Branch**: Name of the branch on
     which to save the result of the desk change. If the branch does
     not exist, a new branch will be created and all measures will be
     recalculated based upon the changed data.
   * **Desk Model**: Name of the new model
     to assign to the selected desk (IMA or SA). If IMA is the current desk model, SA
     is automatically selected and vice versa.

3. In the Pivot table, if the Epoch dimension is selected, the new
   branch shows all the data belonging to the selected desk moved to
   the model you specified and all measures recalculated based on the
   changed data.
