# How to find and reopen a report

> Previously completed Risk, VaR, and P&L results located by report category, timestamp period, text search, and column filters, with date and status checks before reopening an accessible calculation

Applies to **Reports** → **History** in Risk Portal.

**Report History** finds accessible reports that completed successfully or with warnings.
Opening a result displays the existing calculation.

## What is required before searching history?

* A signed-in account with access to the required report and portfolio.
* Access to any required market-data environments.

The list depends on account access and applicable organization restrictions.
It excludes running and failed attempts.

## How to find a completed report

1. Select **Reports** in the sidebar.
2. Select **History**. The **Report History** page opens.
3. Select **Risk Reports**, **VaR Reports**, or **PNL Reports**.
4. Choose the required range in **Select Time Period...**.
5. Enter a portfolio name, report name, or currency in **Select Filter...**, if needed.

Verify that the results match the selected category and filters.
The period choices are **Today**, **Yesterday**, **Latest Week**, **Latest Month**, **Latest Year**, and **All**.

The time-period selector filters the recorded timestamp using UTC dates.
It does not filter the report's valuation date.
**All** removes that period restriction while retaining other filters.

For a specific column condition, use the column's filter menu or the **Filters** panel.
The quick search does not cover every column.
Use individual column filters for **User** or **Market Data Environments**, where available.

## How to identify and open the result

1. Check **Portfolio**, **Report**, and **Currency** on the intended row.
2. Check the report's date fields against the required calculation.
3. Check **Time Stamp** to distinguish separate runs.
4. Check **Status**.
5. Select the row once, on its report or portfolio text.

Verify that the intended report opens with the expected identifying details.
Opening an existing result does not start another calculation.

| Report category | Date fields to check |
| - | - |
| Risk | **Portfolio Date** and **Run Date**. |
| VaR | **Portfolio Date**, **Run Date**, **Lookback Start**, and **Lookback End**. |
| P\&L | **Period**, **Initial Date**, and **Final Date**. |

A green check indicates success.
An orange warning triangle indicates completion with warnings or errors.
Review any available warning details and the opened report before relying on its results.

## What if a report cannot be found?

1. Clear unwanted text from **Select Filter...**.
2. Clear unwanted column filters through their filter controls.
3. Select **All** in the time-period selector.
4. Select the refresh control in the filter toolbar.

Check the updated list before changing the search further.
**No Reports Found** can result from filters, access restrictions, or unavailable completed results.
An empty list does not establish that no report was run.

For loading errors, read the displayed message and contact the configured support contact if the problem persists.
Use [Launch a report](../login-and-start/launch-a-report) for a new calculation or [Report schedules](./schedule-reports) for configured run activity.
