# How to sign in to Risk Portal

> Steps for signing in to Risk Portal from the standalone login screen using the assigned method: password with an optional software-token MFA challenge on the Confirm two-factor code page, Okta, or Enfusion federated authentication

Applies to Risk Portal interface release 19.14.0.111 and the standalone web login screen.

Risk Portal supports password sign-in and configured identity providers.
Use the sign-in method assigned to the account.

## What is required before signing in?

* An existing Risk Portal account and the portal address supplied by the organization.
* The account credentials or configured identity-provider access.
* Access to the configured authentication app if two-factor verification is required.

## How to sign in with a password

1. Open the supplied Risk Portal address. Continue with these steps when the **Risk Portal Login** screen appears.
2. Enter the account username or email address in **Username or Email**.
3. Enter the account password in **Password**.
4. Select **Login**.

If **Confirm two-factor code** appears, complete these additional steps:

1. Read the current code from the authentication app configured for the account.
2. Enter that value in **Code**.
3. Select **Confirm**.

Verify that the authenticated Risk Portal interface replaces the login screen.
The destination can depend on the sign-in route and previously requested page.

## How to sign in with Okta

1. Select **Okta** on the login screen. The organization-address prompt opens.
2. Enter the organization prefix supplied by the administrator. The form already displays the `.okta.com` suffix.
3. Select **Login** to begin Okta authentication.
4. Complete the identity provider's prompts.

Verify that the authenticated Risk Portal interface opens after authentication.
Provider configuration and account access determine whether this method is available.

## How to sign in with Enfusion

1. Select **Enfusion** on the login screen.
2. Complete the identity provider's prompts.

Verify that the authenticated Risk Portal interface opens after authentication.
Use this option for accounts configured for Enfusion sign-in.

## What can prevent sign-in?

| Observation | Next step |
| - | - |
| **Login** is disabled with an empty field. | Complete both **Username or Email** and **Password**. |
| A portal password is forgotten. | Select **forgot password?** and use the email associated with the Risk Portal account. Follow the displayed recovery prompts. |
| A sign-in or verification error appears. | Read the displayed message. Check the supplied details and assigned sign-in method. |
| The assigned provider or account details are unknown. | Contact the organization's administrator for the correct portal address and sign-in method. |

For provider-account problems, use the organization's identity-provider support process.
