# Update a saved VaR launcher item.

> Replaces VaR preferences on a saved item owned by the current caller. Changing the portfolio or report
definition clears the prior report-run linkage. A supplied historical lookback display name must be a supported
choice. The saved-item, report-run, and report-definition identifiers are distinct, and updating preferences
does not run or cancel a report.
