# Pre-production releases

> How ActiveViam handles alpha, milestone, beta, and RC releases before a production (GA) release.

ActiveViam may provide pre-production releases (such as alpha, milestone, beta, or RC) as previews of an upcoming production (GA) release.

Generally, the respective lead times before GA are:

* Milestone: 3 months or more
* Beta: 2 months or more
* RC: 1 month or more

<Warning>Pre-production releases are not officially supported or maintained, and they may not be used as production software.</Warning>

Customers willing to test a pre-production release must do so and provide feedback before the date stated in the respective release notes, through the usual Jira channels.

Pre-production releases are generally delivered with minimal documentation: release notes, migration notes, and some reference materials. Full documentation is only finalized for the GA.
