# Pin a filter

> How to pin and unpin filters in Atoti UI to display them in the Filters bar above a widget, page, or dashboard, enabling quick filter modification from the filters bar dropdown without opening the tools panel, including during Present mode.

Filters can be *pinned* in Atoti UI. Pinned filters are displayed in a **Filters bar** over the widget, page or dashboard to which they are applied. This means you can edit a filter without opening the tools panel, so you can adjust your filters even while in **Present mode**.

## Pin a filter

* Open the **Filters** tool.
* If you don't currently have any filters, [add a new filter](./add-a-filter#add-a-filter-using-the-filters-popup).
* Hover over the tile of the filter you want to pin, you will see some icons appear on the right of the tile.
* Click the **Pin** icon.
* If you have pinned a widget filter, you will now see it pinned above the selected widget. If you have pinned a page or dashboard filter, you will see it pinned above the dashboard.

## Modify a pinned filter

* Click the **Filters bar** to open a dropdown list of members.
* Modify the filter by checking or unchecking members from the list.
* Pinned filters can also be modified using the **edit** icon on the filter tile in the tools panel, exactly as regular filters.

## Unpin a filter

* Hover over the tile of the filter you want to unpin, and click the **Pin** icon.
* The filter will still be applied, but it will no longer be visible in the **Filters bar** above the selected widget, page or dashboard.
* If you wish to remove the filter, you can click the **X** icon on the filter tile in the tools panel.
