# View, edit, and delete task definitions

> How to open and view task definition details, edit task definitions, and delete or archive definitions you no longer need in Atoti Sign-Off.

This section walks you through the various actions you can carry out on task definitions.

## View tasks

To view the details of a task definition and the tasks associated with it, click its name in the [Task Configuration](./task-configuration-screen) table.

This opens the task definition details on the left panel, and displays the associated daily tasks on the right.

To view the details of a specific daily task, click its “View details” button in the **Action** column of the table. This takes you to the **Sign-Off Tasks** screen, providing information on the task status, adjustments, comments, and so on.

## Edit task definition

You can edit a task definition unless there is a task in progress for that definition, or the definition has been archived.

Here’s how to edit your task definition:

1. In the **Task Configuration** screen, click the name of your task definition.
   This opens the definition’s details.
2. In the bottom of the **Sign-Off Task Definition** panel, click **Edit**.
3. Make your changes, then click **Save**.
Your task definition is now updated with your changes.

## Delete or archive task definition

When you no longer need a task definition, you can delete or archive it.

If you haven’t published your definition yet, it can be deleted:

1. In the **Task Configuration** screen, click the name of the task definition you want to delete.
This opens the task definition panel with the details of the definition.
2. Click the **Delete** button.
   Your task definition is removed.

Once a task definition has been published, it can’t be deleted, but you can archive it. Any audit history related to the associated tasks is preserved.

1. In the **Task Configuration** screen, select the task definition you want to archive by checking its checkbox.
2. Click **Archive** in the top right.
3. In the **Archive** dialog, add a comment, then click **Archive**.
Your task definition is now archived and all daily tasks are removed.
